Design and Showroom Intern

Design & Production Intern

Location: Tribeca, New York City

Type: Paid | Part-Time

Compensation: Hourly commensurate with experience, or academic credit for students whose programs support it.

This is a working internship. You will be in the studio, in the showroom, and in rooms where decisions are made—involved in the real, day-to-day process of building a collection from concept through delivery. You will work closely with our lead team and contribute across design, production, sales, and operations, gaining a complete understanding of how an independent luxury brand actually functions.

We are flexible on schedule and happy to work around academic commitments, whether full-time over the summer or part-time during the school year. We are open to both.

We are looking for someone who is highly organized, intellectually curious, and energized by a fast-moving studio environment. A genuine appreciation for luxury fashion and close attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

Design & Creative

Assist the design director with mood boards, fabric pulls, and trend research. Support fittings and alterations, including pressing, pinning, and finishing work. Organize swatches, trims, and the sample library. Contribute to pattern work and technical development depending on your skill level.

Production & Development

Observe and participate in the full production process from initial sample through final garment. Coordinate communication with factories and suppliers — tracking samples, lead times, and tech pack revisions. Maintain production logs, BOMs, and spec sheet archives. Make runs to the Garment District for fabric, trims, and supplies as needed.

Inventory & Warehouse

Receive and log incoming samples and production goods. Maintain inventory records and keep the stockroom organized. Pull and prep pieces for shoots, press appointments, and buyer visits.

Sales & Wholesale

Build and update linesheets and lookbook assets each season. Prepare wholesale decks and order forms for buyer appointments. Support market week logistics and wholesale account follow-up.

Showroom

Prepare and maintain showroom presentation — steaming, hanging, and organizing by collection. Assist during buyer visits, client appointments, and press pulls. Manage sample tracking throughout.

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in fashion design, apparel production, fashion business, or a related field

  • Detail-oriented, patient, and genuinely excited about garment construction and the craft of luxury

  • Polished and professional, with ease around high-end clientele and a discerning eye for quality, fit, and finish

  • Highly organized with strong follow-through; a self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what needs doing

  • Draping, patternmaking or hands-on sewing experience experience is a plus; familiarity with Shopify or e-commerce platforms, as well as basic construction techniques is also welcome

  • Based in New York City and available to work on-site
